Hours: Tues-Sat 10am - 4pm, Sunday 1-5pm, Closed all Mondays, Easter, Thanksgiving, and two weeks over Christmas and New Years.
Visitors: 10,000 - 12,000 year

Mission Statement: To collect submarine history, written or physical artifacts, for display in our museum.

Uses of your collection available to researchers (e.g. will respond to written inquiries, archives available by appointment, and the like): For simple research and questions we handle those requests. For serious or large research project the individual must do their own work in the
museum. We've had authors come in research our files for a book project, such as Big Red Sub about the USS Nebraska. Most of our research library is secured from general access and requires an appointment with the manager for entry.
 
Will you reproduce documents or photographs and what are your charges?  Again back to small projects we don't charge. For large projects we would have to discuss the options available. Museum does has not have a staff for outside major research projects.
 

Collection Content: Over 11,000 submarine and navy items on display or in storage. Over 20 large display cases of various submarine
themes. Many large items from submarines, some provide by the Navy and some by subvets. Over 1,000 books, most about submarines, but many about the US Navy in general, and other Navies in the world. Most likely the largest individual file systems on US Submarines, includes largest
collection of WWII Submarine Patrol Reports. Recently entered the U.S. Naval Administration in World War II - Submarine Commands into the
computer. Presently entering Submarine Operational History World War II These two books were the official classified WWII Submarine history
placed in the naval archives, then classified Secret. In 2003 was bequeathed the private collection of Ben Bastura of Submarine Library &
Museum of Middletown, CT.
 

Other Information: Located in downtown historical St. Marys, GA. Only 10 miles from I-95 Georgia Exit 3. Located near Kings Bay Subase, but we are not part of the Navy. Museum is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization.
