Mission Statement: To provide a rewarding Museum experience based
on the age of sail and to enhance the understanding of our rich maritime
heritage through world-class maritime art, unique ship models, dynamic
exhibits and educational programs.
Use of the Collection: Archives accessible by appointment. No
electronic access. Will respond to written inquiries
within approximately 3 days. Will reproduce
documents and photos. Call for quote.
Collection Content:
- General areas - Ship design and development, ship
model building, local coastal history, maritime art. 17th - 20th
centuries.
- Library - 1300 volumes, 100 vessel technical
drawings. Collection includes British Admiralty charts, W.A. Fairburn
shipbuilding documents and the William Webb (2 vol)
